Successful SAP S/4HANA transformation at DE VERBAND
Together with implementation partner consenso, DE VERBAND launched a conversion project in February 2025 to migrate from its existing SAP ERP (Retail) environment to SAP S/4HANA 2023. The project team was complemented by consenso partner rubinion, responsible for managing SAP Basis activities at DE VERBAND.
Around 4,500 findings addressed and five conversion runs marked DE VERBAND’s migration to SAP S/4HANA 2023. The successful go-live over the weekend was followed by a smooth hypercare phase.

- Project management
- Development management and coordination
- Archiving and introduction of SAP Business Partner as part of a preliminary project
- FI conversion
- Configuration and execution of the ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC) to ensure compatibility of development projects with SAP S/4HANA 2023

- Implementation of SAP S/4HANA Foreign Trade
- Processing of simplification items and conducting workshops for knowledge transfer
- Introduction of SAP Fiori in selected processes

Around 4,500 findings and five conversion runs
Over the course of the project, around 4,500 findings were addressed and a total of five conversion runs were completed – covering the sandbox, development and test systems, followed by a technical dress rehearsal and the final conversion of the production system over the go-live weekend.
Go-live and hypercare
The groundwork for this final step had been completed by the end of October. Following the completion of all cut-over activities over the weekend, the new SAP S/4HANA 2023 system was given the go-ahead for production at 3 p.m. on Sunday, 2 November – after a project duration of just eight months.
DE VERBAND employees were able to begin working in the new system without any issues, resulting in a smooth hypercare phase. A highly successful go-live, made possible by thorough planning and the execution of all necessary activities throughout the project, marked an important milestone in DE VERBAND’s digital transformation journey.
